Design Festa is an event held in Tokyo each year where independent designers set up booths and sell their goods. It's held at Tokyo Big Sight, a big convention center. I don't know whether "Big Sight" is a mistaken version of "Big Site" or if it's supposed to show that the sights are big...or both. But it certainly is big!
There were thousands and thousands of booths, selling everything from drawings to ceramics to clothes to toys.
I of course was there for the toys...and I got a couple nice ones!
It was a fun but exhausting day...there was just no way to see everything that was there. But it was great to see that the independent design community is going strong!
